I've only been here for a year and I feel like I'm being set up to fail, intentionally. Is Optum known for doing this to get rid of people? I'm this close to quitting, that is if they don't fire me first.

Sadly no matter how competent you are and how extremely incompetent the level above you, the HR and the six foot under corporate lawyers are for the management. They are not for the “ people”. This org leadership is surrounded with $ grabbing self serving bunch with zero integrity…
Best advice? Strengthened your skills and take on side gig that diversify your income. Any side $ so you don’t have to be at the “dev$l’s” mercy.
That was what happened to me. I was doing the work of three people ( literally when I left I was replaced by three people). I was demoted first then l left.. it's a toxic place. Two years later I am still processing the PTSD. I was totally in working 18 hour days etc... ultimately they will sc--w you. I am so much happier and not abused at my current gig.
like clockwork every qtr at the minimum heads will roll. it is an acquired taste just cash them checks and do the minimum. you become immune to it after a couple years
The severance package is a joke!!!
don't quit, just let it be. if you get layoff, take the severance.
Don’t quit. It is their mess to manage.
Cannot wait for Season 3 of “Let’s Watch Management Play Favorites” right after the premier of “Supermarket Sweep of All the Good Employees.” Starring my manager, “The Toxic Avenger.”
Absolutely common. Don't quit unless you are in a good position to do so. Quietly quit.
As others have said it’s a pretty common theme here. It can be a very cliquey environment and the way they structure RRP, there ALWAYS has to be fall guys/gals. So, if you’re not in the right clique and always su-king up, that target is going to be on you… and the quicksand will slowly consume you.
Sadly this is common across the majority of the company’s business segments. Left to either swim or flounder… so now I only take my job and company serious as they take me. A joke that you can flush down a toilet….su-k up all the money, benefits and railroad the dog sh!t out of your management right back when stupid stuff comes up and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself. Cuz let’s face it, if they fire you…they’re doing you a true solid.
Scr$$w you over if given the opportunity- this is 💯 + accurate! Don’t expect your boss to support you. As they say in the military- they need a de$d body when they kick the can down the street! They will set you up so they can stay “innocent” of any blames they placed on you- shamelessly! Toxic culture!
It’s everywhere but very common theme !
Totally depends upon your group. Unfortunately, with layoffs everywhere, fear will begin to drive a lot more actions than the curiosity and understanding the company used to long ago promote in culture training.
Yes, the company constantly has layoffs so nobody you work with wants to share information with you and then they tell your boss how bad you are to make themselves look better.
Yes they are known for that.
Any deliverable, milestone, goal they want you to accomplish, make sure you get it in writing. Also make sure that they are measurable and not just open to managements interpretation.
They will sc--w you over if given the opportunity.
