Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Layoffs

With constant layoffs and literally the worst hiring freeze since the last 3 years does any feel that their creer trajectory has hit a ceiling?

I dont want to compain but i am really worried about my job (if i will laid off next) and the current market out there. I am okay for 3 months without a job but anything more would be stretching my savings. Not to mention the raise this year ensured that I am effectively earning less than i did last year.

Any advices?

Advice - it is better to look for a job while you have one. Research and see what is out there, work on your resume and apply to what looks good. At the least you will polish your resume and work on your interviewing skills, at best you will find a new job you love and get to leave the dumpster fire that is Dell in the rear-view mirror.

It's a lesson that needs to be learned. You need to have a lot of cash in reserve these days. I'm talking 9 months to 1 year. People were buying a ton of stuff during 2020/2021 without understanding where the success was coming from(ie printing money). I got clipped pretty bad during 2008 and learned my lesson. The government cannot keep saving us. No one wants to listen though. Hopefully, you don't get fired so you can save as much money as you can. Also, pay attention to non main stream media for the real story on the economy.

As a M9+ that is fully remote. Yes, that would be an accurate description.

I'm literally waiting for things to calm or another opportunity to come up.

The best advice for someone on an obviously sinking boat is to get off the sinking boat and onto a different boat as soon as possible

Worrying is not going to help. Reality does seems to have eluded many. Train the Pain, Pleasure and Good Times are Temporary. It will get worse.
Advice: None. You are only Mortal.
