If earnings are soft watch out for a round of layoffs (single largest cost of doing business is headcount, well outside lawsuits from data breaches) to arbitrarily bump the numbers and make the company look more attractive to Clearlake. Then the board can push for a $90 per share and run off into the sun laughing all the way to the bank on the backs of the workforce.

I'm new to BB, hired in the past 6 months. Is it a good or bad thing if this company buys us? To my understanding they tried to buy us before but ELT said no?
