Thread regarding Tesla layoffs

This was to be expected

The stock keeps crashing, our vehicles keep disappointing, Musk is alienating our main customer base with his behavior... Something has to make up for the profits lost due to all of this, and who better than employees? It's not as if we're doing anything important, like making the damned things, right?

Picking a vehicle by political party was already a thing. EVs are primarily purchased by middle/upper class blue voters because it signals being environmentally conscious.

Elon being a massive di-k to this core customer is one of the d-mbest public moves in business history.

How shallow we have become people select a vehicle based on political party. More than likely people have woke up that Ev is not the solution. Cars with any propulsion system are too expensive. ICE manufacturers are increasing prices what planet do they live on just dump the pain on dealers who got addicted to gouging customers because they could. Oh no what goes around comes around. Not a sustainable business model. The legacy OEM on on death row unless we foolishly bail them out again. At least Elon was attempting to build a car for the masses just not quite there yet. They will probably survive just some bloodletting that needs to occur from time to time at a large corporation.

The top reason is Musk exposing himself as the ultra right Trump supporter. That ki-led half of Tesla’s prospects.
