Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Commission Payout Question

For those that have received the WFR news, and are on a Commission Based pay structure, did Dell pay out the commission you've already earned and have not received the commission paycheck? Or do they cut you and anything in the hopper just goes back to the mother ship and your are left in the cold?

I was WFR Feb last year. No issues with Dell payout. They were quite fair and paid all commissions outstanding even a few months after I left.
Biggest issue was the WFR was completely unexpected. I'd made my number and had significant opportunities well developed going into the next FY.
Lesson ( well ) learnt in such a large organisation you are literally a number in the CFOs spreadsheet when the business needs to do 'cost out'. Subsequent WFRs that impacted many of my former colleagues reinforced this fact.
Obviously its a painful experience but I didn't take it personally and quickly moved on to another role after a few months searching. Consolidation and WFR is just the nature of the Tech industry currently. Work for a large global organisation and its almost inevitable.

You still get your commission on the commission pay schedule at the end of the month. I even got a second payout the month after - something(s) must have shipped that month.

Beware though, if you're a high performer who crushed your quota, they will try to withhold some of it. They changed my quota after the quarter ended and pumped up my storage bucket and I lost around 2k on my final commission number. Had receipts from SCORE and everything but they wouldn't budge...
