Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Jane is doubling down on the Citi culture.

In burnout cultures, such as Citi, people are judged by the sacrifices they make. Hobbies, vacations and even family are viewed as distractions to penalize.

I healthy cultures, people are judged by the commitments they keep. Interests outside of work are seen as passions to celebrate.

Remember, if you don’t like it then GET OFF OF THE TRAIN!!!!

Jane does not care about Citi culture. She’s been put in place to chop up Citi and sell it off in chunks. Once its all been trimmed down to the bare bones, whether Citi survives or not, she will leave with a ‘job well done’.

Post ID: @1fnh+1s2qsN89 Your post is dubious at best. You may be Cit HR/"management". In many US States today, employers are required by law to post reasonable Salary ranges, Not $0 to Infinity.

JPMorgan is not necessarily paying more. I know people there that earn about the same as I do, doing way more complex jobs and they also do have a lot of Indians there, in fact they have tech centers that are almost 98% or more Indian somewhere in the middle of nowhere. JPMorgan is also not publishing salary ranges for a job post which makes it harder to request an appropriate amount without fear of being discarded for asking for too much.

I was able to negotiate a good salary at citi given that there was this range in place, granted that it's not a crazy $0-300,000 range.

Post ID: @irq+1s2qsN89 JPMorgan Chase and GS have a similar work-your-employees-hard work culture as Citi. The main differences are that JPMC and GS do NOT have mostly Indian FTEs and Indian Consultants, AND JPMC and GS pay more and better salaries and bonuses.

Where most people falter is in thinking that Jane cares. They need to come to grips with the fact that she does not. Once you get past that, it makes it easier to…..GET OFF OF THE TRAIN!!!!

Unfortunately the company has lots of Indian managers from consulting background. They never know value of work life balance and only thing they know is to squeeze employees to maximize their benefits. I don’t see anyone adding real value add to the project they are working on. Just trying to show their face and playing political games.
As someone mentioned earlier in this forum, the best and non-political candidates are scape-goats in last layoff.
Citi is turning more political and more micromanagement to work with. All these managers who don’t have idea about projects will exercise more pressure on employees to get work down. Citi is still full of consultants and at one point they were talking about improving employee vs consultants ratio. They are conflicting on their own words and don’t have clear vision.
Citi US is packed with vendor consultants and visa holders. They will be driven with fear every day.
