Since all SH approved the deal, are we going to merge with HPE sooner than later?

Nothings been announced. Everything you are reading is speculation.
It has to go through the regulatory process and that will take time. SH’s can approve all they want, but the Fed needs to review all aspects of two large companies becoming one.
Since SH approved the deal, why it will take 7-8 months further to close?
It must close early right
The latest thing I read said end of 2024, beginning of 2025. But they are starting more layoffs now to prepare for it. They have announced they are laying off 10-15% of their employees in India. That comes out to be about 500 people. I think people can count on more to come. And eventually their big AI plan will lead to even more. It almost makes me feel lucky I was laid off earlier and beat the rush to find a new job.
