Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

UP ordered by STB

Eventhough Vena lied to folks over at JP Morgan, the STB ordered UP to provide the public with employment data. Evidently, UP wants to hide that data from the public for some reason. Maybe to cover up their lies. Yes, these clowns running the UP are the same clowns advocating a woke culture. When you hire based on race and gender rather than knowledge and experience, this what you get.

UP keeps hiring in places they are furloughing because they get a tax incentive. They know good and well most of those folks won't last after training. Hiring is also done to meet their DEI hiring numbers despite knowing they don't intend on those hired to ever have a career here. Remember this nonsense when the next United Way pledge comes along this fall. The same underprivileged communities they want you to donate to are the same ones they care cutting jobs in.

The STB. wants to know why UP, is so short staffed, and why the rosters show names, with no one still working there....

UP is bsing, again and trains aren't moving with adequate crew levels.

The 11 and 4 isn't happening because low extra board and rested pools

Weird that I took the WC at Cheyenne, federal on conductors step. Went a couple days with a federal. No one will say anything as its your job. Turned it in. But by then its a failure in rout.

Safety is not an issue.

The media has got to become more specific in regards to railroads being short staffed. During the push for one man crews everyone was only paying attention to the operating dept man power numbers. Meanwhile mechanical and engineering depts were decimated. Then when hiring for train service the company claims "hiring this many hundreds or one thousand" but never any specifics for car dept, locomotive, track, signal, etc.

Stevie Wonder inspects locomotives at my terminal. He is the lead man and he never finds defects. I heard he’s trying to become a manager. Seems like defects are only found after departing terminal. Someone needs to keep and eye on this guy.

As bad as mechanical and car dept been hit, there's no way in he-l that cars and locos are inspected to AAR standards and deff not serviced. I see defects I pull tracks and switches out of service. But seems no one will do it to defective cars or locos.

We did want to hide the figures. Several reasons were the reason. One was to quell the possibility of public outcry incase of a catastrophic accident where as public opinion (as well as government officials) would be quick to blame safety was compromised due to manpower, or should I say a lack there of.
