Thread regarding D&H Distributing layoffs

Sales and Marketing Layoffs

The week of 3/10/24 D&H Distribution of Harrisburg, Pa unexpectedly laid off a hand full of teams in Marketing and Sales. The only reason given was restructuring and employees were not offered alternative positions. Many of these employees were veterans of the company and very successful and highly thought of by there peers. It's theorized these were brought on by new executive management recently brought on and given a lot of power at D&H including building a new Florida second corporate office. D&H stands by this was not a financial decision in a letter to is employees.

This is still happening.. And they seemingly are paying less money to the individual employees than last year. It almost seems like something criminal is happening.

This has been a problem for the past few years. Following Covid and tech data / synnex acquisition D&H executives decided to offer jobs to the tech data folks that were likely to be let go due to overlap from summed on their roles. That management team (based in Florida) stole the culture from D&H and came in promoting only their previous co workers. No one at D&H has been happy since the tech data takeover. D&H was an employer that PA workers were proud to work for and loved their roles. Sadly this has all changed.

D&H has gone down hill. They took on all of the TD/SYnnex rejects and now are focused on recruiting as many of the TD/Synnex people as possible. I’m still at D&H and I can see why those people where let go. For the most part they incompetent, lazy and entitled. Horrible place to work now.

Executives and Directors are definitely favoring Hiring from tech data now in Florida instead of Harrisburg area.

Seems like Harrisburg Legacy employees are slowly being replaced by tech data employees. More marketing hires this week directly from tech data in Florida, after layoffs last month of Harrisburg employees. Dan Schwab, Marty Bauerline making big changes that has impacted many families in central Pa. Sad days for the company.

Sad, very upsetting and scary to those of us still here. There has been a lot of power given to me executives here recently. Including building of a new second corporate office in Florida after recruiting from a competitor. Talk is more will leave now as the company can't be trusted. No one is safe. Sad used to be a family place you could retire comfortably from. Not any more. Employee ownership is getting less and less worth it.
