Anyone know if the next wave of NYC layoffs in the next 2 weeks will qualify for WARN period payout? Or will it solely be severance? Not quite sure how to decipher the DOL posted notice as there was a November 2023 date referenced.

If you’ve been warned and told your last day is in 90 days but you still have to work through the 90 days then you don’t get warn payout. Warn payout is only for those folks who weren’t warned and get the boot the same day they are told which places you in a non-working notice forcing Citi to pay you for 90 days in lieu of a warn notice. Either way you still get severance at the end. What you want is to be placed on a non-working notice for 90 days so you get paid from Citi and if you’re lucky find another job that way you get two paychecks for 90 days plus your severance. Its a chance to stack your money. My advice if you have a feeling you’re going to get laid off apply to jobs today moving forward.
