Just saw the department I was laid off on a year later is rehiring. Guess the incompetent ones left behind are making a big fuss about the additional work. Su-k it up.

Interesting they don't reach out to those that were laid off first. Guess they want to bring in the cheap labor...or they know the laid off won't be motivated to work their tails off again.
DTV is horrible and can't be worse, there is no work ethic and no integrity at all, any level of employees do not know any basic of their job responsibilities and they won't do anything, the only daily work is about popularity, a...s kissing, it is way disgusting workspace.
My cousin has been employed at DTV for quite some time. According to him, the company is like a sinking ship; most employees simply go through the motions without putting in real effort. Even management seems to follow suit, just coasting along until the company meets its demise, milking it for all it's worth along the way.
Would only go back if no other choice or as second hustle. The way T-management disposes of their long-term employees is distasteful and left a forever stain on a once beloved company.
The culture nowadays is toxic and don't buy into any of the townhall BS. It is a business and nothing more. You are an employee and nothing more so make sure you always put yourself and your own interests first.
If I could do it again, I would not have sacrificed time with family or worked more than 40+/- hours. Get your $ and clock out.
There is one "senior software engineer" job open with only 4 applicants after a week. It seems everyone knows that DTV is a sh-t show. In this market, that job should have 100+ applicants by now.
As you said, more lay offs to come. No point working at a sinking company. AT&T would be a better option which is funny.
