Fully expect that people that opt for remote but within say...50 miles of a phase one site, are made to go hybrid or else. Regardless of what the policy currently states.
My main thought is: after a few months, are they going double down or relax a bit. They are going way way beyond how things were pre-pandemic. A company that embraced remote work dating back to 2009 now wanting everyone in an office? It's such a 180 to what they've pushed for the last 15 years. I'd like to think reasonable minds will realize this and loosen up...but every move they've made recently just leads me to believe they will double down.
Copilot may soon summarize all of your virtual calls and send to your micro manager desperate to justify their existence. Be careful of any jokes or information shared over video conference. Black mirror style woke social dashboards may be coming.
