My team lost a lot of competent, experienced and hard working people. We have a hard time reorganizing and coming at least close to the efficiency from before. If the same type of people are being laid off from other teams, I really do not know who will carry the weight and create the revenue. The rest of us who are still here will start leaving, because it is impossible to work for three or four people.

In most areas I have been in at Citi there was always too much work for the amount of people. Now it will be worse, much worse. Jane doesn't care. This is all about stock price. Cut costs and stock goes up. Employees are expensive. This is a short term price fix with horrible long term implications. Everyone knows it, including Jane. I think she knows her days are numbered. She's snowballing stock holders with lies about AI. And those of us on the ground know there is no way with Citi's antiquated systems, old tech, and spaghetti processes tied together with duct tape and shoe laces, that AI will ever really have an impact without throwing a ton of money at it.
There is no carrot at Citi, there’s only the whip which will be applied in order to incentivize.
