Hope everyone is ready for the cycle rest days. Be warned up will run the board as short as humanly possible. Causing engineer's to go back to being conductors and essentially pushing the younger conductor out of their spot. The idea was great, but I think once it started to kick they realized what they had done. In the end engineers not being able to run and forcing them back to and then forcing the conductor out of his spot. Really hope the conductor’s don’t give in like the engineers did.

Ready for what? Ready for Vena and his PSR team to continue sc--wing up the railroad, literally su-king the fun out of the job, filling people with regret for even applying there, or be ready for changes that EVERYONE should've seen coming when that mid-et first showed up? There really isn't a single dam thing Vena could come up with that would surprise me at all. A railroad career isn't what it used to be, and many have started to see that.
The BLET and SMART leadership attend meetings, play golf, have nice dinners, etc with the UP Labor Relations jokers. While they are all living the highlife where are you? At work in the middle of the night, not properly rested, missing family events, waiting on a ride after you expired on the HOS 4 hours ago, working while you are sick, being swapped from a deadhead to dogcatch so the management can hide the recrew, unable to get a hotel room because they they are sold out; the list goes on and on. Yes, the job would be a lot worse without the unions, but the people at the top of the unions and carrier are more interested increasing their quality of life than truly representing the dues paying members. Actions, or lack of, speak louder than words. I hope they all enjoy spending our money at their next hobnob event
BLET told us it was the best thing since sliced bread. They even gave up our 12 ur rest because they seem to think 11-4 is going to be great. Imo 6-3 or 9-5 would have been a bit more reasonable. In my opinion the BLE just does whatever is good for the company. They can’t even get our away from home meal allowance raised as high as the Conductors.
Just ask to be Furloughed then you can have all the days off..
