Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

3 days in the office

Has anyone suffered any consequences for not going into the office 3 days a week (A warning, written up, rates less than a 3)?

My site is still a ghost town. There has been no mass return to the office.

Citi is such a juxtaposition. They try to sell cutting edge work environment and fresh new thinking but, they also push for return to office which is old world thinking.

Is RTO mis-used ? How to report my manager not showing up in office? Does favoritism still lingers here ?

It's being tracked and MDs get a list of who isn't complying. It can result in termination and an easy way to cut more people without paying severance. One of the reasons it was implemented.

Citi management could care less if you hired in at a remote role. They could care less how far away you live or how much you have to pay for gas or if you have kids at home.

Many people moved during the pandemic so may not be near an office. Citi hired people during the pandemic which were remote. The whole concept of forcing people in person is like forcing people to use landlines instead of cell phones.

I can only tell you that it is absolutely being tracked. How much it is being enforced is another matter. It depends how much you want to risk it.

No, but badges become deactivated after a while.

At MD level for each org, they have a report of badge scans. This was shared with all employees when the RTO for this MDs area was below 70%. They had the breakdown by days on the report.
For example, X people showed up in office for 3 days a week, X showed up 1 days, X were no show and so on. They also mentioned that the people that don't show up for min no of days will have to eventually show up for 5 days a week.
And the general understanding is, it's just mandated for full time employees not contractors.
