So… your Job is changing

Got a look east minute Teams chat from a senior director who has never had the time to speak with me before.

Apparently, my job is changing and it will be announced in the All Team meeting tomorrow. What is my new job? She wouldn’t say. Who will I report to? She wouldn’t say. She it’s said that I will find out tomorrow in the all Team meeting. She thought it was great she was giving me a heads up. I disagree. Don’t tell me partial information and think that is ok. All you are doing is causing stress and anxiety. Poor form.

Happened to me too.
I recommend you keep the Woco close, and take advise from them in case they did something weird or illegal.

But more important - LAWYER UP! If you are in Germany most people have legal insurance which covers work related topics and I recommend seeing a lawyer.
If you have been with the company a long time in case of your role being made redundant you are owed a lot of money and the lawyer can negotiate a better package for you.
Also document everything happening and send written emails and ask for your situation to be clarified in writing. If you to a lawyer and say all comms was verbal they might even say is not official. Sometimes is all verbal on purpose when the business does weird stuff with the reorg. ( certain special people who were not liked by line manager were accidently "reorganized").
Nobody wants to have a lawsuit on their hands, and sometimes a simple notifications from your lawyer to the company to ask for your rights can be very helpful.

I had this happen to me. When it was announced... they totally glossed over the new org chart. Like in 3 minutes. Explained nothing and thought that was okay. The VP was horrible.... wouldn’t answer questions and basically told us to just accept it. Peace out!

Agreed - this is not a smart way to handle such news. And announcing in an All Hand’s in front of everyone??? That’s very bad form.

Curious though, what function or market you sit in?
