Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Where to go?

For those wanting to jump ship, where would you even think about going? Aren't all large competitors in this industry just as bad? Are there any healthcare companies with remote positions that actually put patients over grossly bloated profits? Perhaps some nonprofit I'm not aware of????

Other big health insurers are laying off too. However they are giving better much better merit raises than optum/uhc.

Not sure if they can provide a lateral or equivalent move, but I've consistently heard good things about Epic. They aren't as big for sure, and they do different things. They also require moving to Wisconsin, which is ultimately why I didn't pursue them.

I left UHG/Optum land about 6 months ago after 15 years. At smaller company now I really enjoy it, culture is so diff it’s refreshing. There are better companies out but you def have to do your homework to find them

Market will be reluctant to hire from this company esp. Security folks.

I'm out but I would recommend looking anywhere but here and be extra careful to make sure they are not UHG/Optum owned!

I never wanted to be at a large company, my company was bought. So I would look at mid-sized tech companies.
