Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

We are a cautionary tale

I was scrolling through the latest posts and I ran into this: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1roLk6WA

It's funny how we've become the boogeyman of the business world. "Be careful what you're doing or you're going to end up like Boeing!" If it wasn't sad, it'd be funny.

Should have their nepo executives in the hole long ago and covered it with concrete.

Yep, I don't see Boeing climbing out of the deep hole they dug...and they are still digging...

Wow...super well done!

However, I don't agree with John that Boeing will survive. I think they are ultimately doomed even if this takes some time. Boeing is way behind the 8 ball in all things, deep in debt and lacks the needed engineering/manufacturing experience to successfully produce quality/safe products much less innovative products. And perhaps more importantly, the competition these days is far better and now far more respected than Boeing, even including COMAC. In any event, we will be using the Kayak Travel site John detailed to avoid Boeing airplanes forever more.

That John Oliver show was accurate, hilarious and sad. Loved the camels too...

Many of the best ex-Boeing people who have gone on to better benefit other companies and themselves have documented for posterity for future MBA students the inept Boeing leadership story that destroyed the company. And long before the Max accidents too.

Many MBA schools already use Boeing as example of how not to manage a technology company.

The recent John Oliver show on Boeing was absolutely incredible. Same for the recent one he did on the Supreme Court too. Didn't know Phil Condit married his first cousin. That explains a lot... The camels on the cover of financial magazine was perfect too. LOL

In my opinion, they will be studying Boeing in business schools for the next hundred years for how not to run a business.

It it will be used as an example of the Jack Welch management school, and as a cautionary tale for the perils of mismanagement, and neglecting your core business values and competency.

Boeing’s core competency was engineering and manufacturing. It isn’t project management of suppliers. Which is what the Jim McNerney’s and company tried to make it

We shall see. Hopefully we reverse things before it's to late.
