Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I see many posts on Layoff/Anxiety/Stress which panic others. this too shall pass. everything is temporary and that nothing lasts forever.

Here are some self-care strategies during a layoff:
Self-care is crucial during a layoff to maintain your well-being. Here are some strategies that can help:

  1. Make a Tangible Plan: Outline the steps you’ll take following the layoff, such as updating your resume and reaching out to your network.
  2. Positive Self-Talk: Adjust your inner dialogue to focus on your strengths and resilience.
  3. Physical Well-Being: Engage in regular exercise, eat a balanced diet, and ensure adequate sleep to keep your body healthy and manage stress.
  4. Mindfulness and Relaxation: Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation, deep breathing exercises, or yoga.
  5. Social Support: Talk to friends, family, or consider joining a support group for emotional support.
  6. Pace Yourself: Set a reasonable schedule for job searching and allow time for rest and activities you enjoy.
  7. Adopt a New Perspective: Try to view the layoff as an opportunity for growth and new possibilities.

Remember, it’s normal to experience a range of emotions during this time, and taking care of your mental and emotional health is just as important as taking care of the practical aspects of a job search.

Everything is temporary and that nothing lasts forever.

Sounds like with got a middle manager out of touch of the reality of employees. I can’t pay my bills, but reflect and meditate? Optum HR and Growth Channels are joke. While they are continuing to underpay their people, check the salary ranges comparatively to other companies. Optum is always lower.
Let’s waste our time on unless surveys about stress, the employer and their nontransparent tactics! Yeah

Simple solution to all those fearing a layoff. Start looking… you have been given some unexpected off time to focus on that

Worrying every Thursday morning whether you’ll be able to continue sheltering and feeding your kids at the end of that day isn’t something a little bit of warm fuzzy woo is going to solve. Please spare me.
