Is it normal behavior for a tech company to blindly remove access to hundreds of employees without a clear recovery path except for a running chat that impossible to follow?

You can really worry if your corrupted computer asks for permission to run, oh, Word, Excel and (GASP) a game. Sapience is always running of course. I am out of Fiserv long gone but a systems professional and NEVER saw in any firm I worked with any basic Windows app ask for server permission - calculator? Knee jerk security move.
