Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Technology Leadership ?

D's and MD's in Technology division should come from Technology background. Why there is a requirement of pure "Business" background executives in Technology ? How much they worked in technology to be in current position ? How much they coded ? How much they architected ? How much they understand current Tech market scenario ?
Why can't you promote a technical person to top ?

Who is the current head of Technology division:

  • A consulting manager
  • A Business analyst
  • A MBA graduate
  • A person from Big4 consulting

There is no technology here ... How can you expect a worthy outcome ?

Most of the leadership in Citi technology have been there 20 to 30 years. They are simply outdated and rotten. Time for new generation of leadership!

It's all about the bean counters and consultants these days, which is why so many companies lag behind in their tech.

Unfortunately, sometimes it's more about who you know and not what you know at this company.
