Can’t keep waiting to be laid off - HELP

I can’t keep waiting to be laid off. I’m completely miserable in this company. Everyday feels like he-l. Is there any way I can quit on the spot? Why is a two weeks notice required and why do you need to submit your resignation at least 3 days in advance from your resignation date?

I think the 3 day rule is completely ridiculous.

After you don't show up or sign in for a week or do someone might notice and figure it out.. Why stress about it? The only reason not to burn bridges is if you ever want to return. It's called I am resigning effective immediately.

Stop acting like you are not in control of some aspects of your adult life! If you want to quit, quit. Stop seeking permission or advice from strangers on a layoff site. If you have enough savings or don’t need to secure another job first, then just peace out. Although unprofessional if it leaves your colleagues sc--wed and if you do not have a clause that requires notice, bye! As harsh as it sounds, you are acting like a victim. Boss up!

The formatting on mobile leads to an unfortunate assumption with the title. Me, too, OP. Me too.

You are your own worst enemy. Collect a check and chill out. If you don't like where you work, find another job first before you quit. Easy peasy. Don't complicate things.

Just do the minimum work. Yes, it is a toxic environment but if you are working remotely, you are in your own environment. Put on some music of the tv with give some ambiance, put in the minimum time without any extra. You have a life outside of work. Live it. Work on your terms, collect the check and look for a job. They don't own you so don't let them. You must do what is best for you, your family and your health. It is a job, not a death sentence. Take it for what it's worth. Use them like they use you. Collect the check and have the health benefits until you find the replacement job.
Good Luck.

You all are just giving them what they want. These small raises and bonuses they gave this year. This news the intended outcome. They want people to leave without having to lay them off. You’re just making it easier for them because now they don’t have to pay you severance.

You can quit at any time and walk away. Notice is only relevant if you ever want to be re-hired, as failing to give it will likely get you put on a "no re-hire" list.

Be strategic and do what's right for you. Quiet Quitting is becoming a solid option for many: Quiet Quitting refers to doing the minimum requirements of one’s job and putting in no more time, effort, or enthusiasm than absolutely necessary. As such, it is something of a misnomer, since the worker doesn’t actually leave their position and continues to collect a salary.

I felt I was working with a bunch of disgruntled employees that have quietly quit. Now I see why. A review that gave me a bi-weekly raise which could not even buy a sandwich and coke for lunch. Disgusted. I sacrificed nights, weekends, holidays, away on family birthdays, did whatever was asked. No more. you get what you pay for. What a way to waste a bunch of talent.

I quit without notice a few months ago. Just note what hours you have coming to you to be paid. Don't count on getting paid your PTO and be mindful of when your insurance will expire. Think it through, make sure you won't regret the decision before you do so. Are you in an at-will state? If you quit you won't get unemployment, depending on where you live. Check everything before you pull that trigger. Good luck.
