Guessing Game:
I am going to guess -$100M+ eventually settling for closer to $ 25M or is going to cost $200M+ to recover without paying ransom.

Wired dot com just published an article that says a bitcoin wallet associated with previous ransoms from the ALPHV group recd an inbound tax of 350 BTC, so around $22 million USD. Article also indicates an affiliate may have been stiffed on their commission due to them for their part in the hack. Link to wired article:

It reminded me of the good ole’ day when the “group” defaced the online portal of a major financial institution. I was an insider and things sure have evolved and become much more sophisticated to dissect the attack. Good EIS and network techs hard to retain yet many were in RIF rounds ..

Case scenario - last fall a major casino had to pay $15M. Their reported revenue was $11B.
Granted we can’t compare orange to apple.
The magnitude of critical data captured will drive the ransom up. A logical guess..maybe leadership feels compassionate enough to “donate” some of their awarded options/bonuses to offset the above. It will go 1000x farther than more RIFs.
