Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Retail stores going downhill fast

The quality of the associates in our stores are at an all time low. So many of them look unkept like they just rolled out of bed. Uniforms wrinkled dirts and untucked. The attitudes are terrible like they don’t want to be there and no customer service and forget any sales skills. So sad to see every aspect of this company spiraling like this.

I am so glad someone said this. I worked in retail and corporate for many years, but haven’t been inside a store in about 2 years. I went in a few weeks ago and was shocked at the quality of the employees. There was no greeting, they all seemed miserable, unfriendly, and very unkempt.

Yes captain obvi, retail has been on the decline for last 15 years. Not the point being made. If you are going to hold on to retail have some respect and hire, train and provide good customer service. Pretty basic principles if the company can’t commit to, yes close them down. It’s embarrassing.

My favorite thing to do is buy my stuff on Amazon but make Staples process my returns, take the 15 percent coupon and give it to the person in the store buying the most stuff as I will never buy anything from there again. Too overpriced and the brand stuff is junk.
