Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

What would it take to make Crown a great place to work again?

I am genuinely curious. I lost all trust in this place but am wondering: What would make Crown a really awesome place to work at again? Asking as someone with one foot out the door towards greener pastures. Please no fighting over the superiority of Towers vs Fiber and vice versa, please don't mention pet insurance or complain about the missing gym in SP

The micromanaging is starting from the top, because by any measure we're a sinking ship and they don't know what else to do.

There was a complete failure of business model, team building, and system building, and now we are dealing the the consequences of years of poor leadership. It's very unfortunate.

How about having some managers that are not just in it for themselves. Since the RIF I have never been micromanaged this much. Everyday priorities are changing, and then the day after that they decide to go a different way. I don't know if I am coming or going anymore. Hate to toss my hat in the ring so soon, but I am sure HR will not value anyones opinion on being overworked and underpaid. And getting away from the family table and Crown, and more of a "If you want to work here, then work. Or leave." Thanks CL, DB, DB, RP, OD...

They need to let go of the leadership that have created an obvious boys and girls club. So many leaders have brought in their friends and pulled them up in the ranks only to make the PMs,CM,PCs and specialist have to jump through the hoops of fire to make up for their incompetence and lack of experience. I sit in the AZ office and it is the worst when it comes to this, I watched it happen time after time and many know it as well.

Um yeah 72.5 percent equals half of what you got last year cause you got around 150 percent last time. Is your calculator on the fritz again?

When the Board decides to reward a CEO that doesn't want to be accountable for laying off over 1,000 people with a few million as a golden parachute AND a contract to stay on and do nothing it gets a little hard to care about the company goals. It's always upper management that comes in here and writes something like "stop whining".

Missed the point. Keep whining. Keep bringing up this site at all hands company meetings. Keep not being accountable. Everything gets better with laziness!

Stop acting like we don’t have a gap of $117 million and that a sale of fiber and another are RIF is not coming. The Ides of March are coming.

Don’t tell me the bonus will be 72% only to see a letter where it’s less than half of last years. All while paying worthless former execs boatloads of cash to leave. Good starting point.

Why are the people comparing salaries a problem?

Accountability. At all levels. The same people here complaining nonstop and comparing salaries are a problem. Nobody is held accountable. The amount of laziness I see constantly is amusingly pathetic.

Great question!

BOD totally clueless, the Boots proposed adds are all tower centric. Need folks with fiber company operating company experience. Prioritize creating customer support systems, order automation and best in class support.

EMT, two seem to do well, the rest don't bring much to the table. We listen to more discussions on purple shoes/socks then we do how to build quality low maintenance plant.

Lol we're lost until we get a real leader.

Lol, clearly part of my post went over your head Anonymous. I was kidding about the not mentioning pet insurance and the SP gym because those things ALWAYS come up on all hands calls and everyone always groans when they do. They are just never going to happen...

I just don’t trust that EMT, VPs or Directors even understand what good operations look like. It would take entirely new operators at the top.

Leadership has been too afraid to invest properly in overdue projects and things take five times longer here than they should. That means all the individual workers are crushed with inefficiency in their day to day. It is a small company and EMT have had the nerve to say we compare ourselves to the likes of Google. It’s a stupid ego fest at the top. They’re going to cut further and a skeleton crew is going to be left to manually push through the ancient way we run things.

Hard to have faith.

It rots from the top. Get rid of the EMT, most of the VPs and a few directors. Then rebuild. Also enough with the Rapid. The cost and clean up of that in a few years will be such a pain. Everyone who pushes it now will be gone too. Also just do the RIF and fiber sale already. We all know it’s coming so get on with it.

There would have to be a complete overhaul of the board and EMT. The thought that is in the back of everyone’s mind of “is today going to be the day where I get that email telling me I lost my job” is crippling. Nobody wants to work for any of those soulless, unqualified ba----ds and it shows. Make Crown Great Again!

Leaving has been the best decision I ever made. Run to the greener pastures. You will not regret it. Good luck.
