Optum has more than 90,000 employed or affiliated physicians and another 40,000 advanced practice clinicians serving tens of millions of people. Research indicates that concentrating control of healthcare providers and facilities into a handful of massive health systems leads to higher healthcare costs, without improving quality of care.

Ref OP on Posting Peter - this forum is a platform for transparency and bring awareness how folks were part of RIF due to pure greed.
There is no need to be the “police watcher” to stifle freedom of speech? It’s not working with the MO of this org., the truth always comes out! Go back to your ivory tower which might be crumbling at the base right now …

UNH stock is down 5% today.
Objectively, this is correct. However this is similar to how large health systems buy up provider groups.
No surprise here and extremely timely! This acquisition company should have been stopped a long time ago. Thankfully, I am no longer a slave of this company. They are not in the business of healthcare, they don't care about their employees, members, or customers. They are well known for denying care because they can.
The only care about shareholders. The leadership cares about their multi-million dollar paychecks and bonuses. It's all lip service. They always take the cheapest way out by offshoring, withholding salary increases and bonuses etc.
Did anyone see their financials? They had record profits; the leadership must be laughing all the way to the bank. Shame on the Dept of Justice who works for US, we the people, for allowing this company to become this behemoth.
Now it is time to tear is down and tear it apart. It has destroyed the healthcare ecosystem. It has ruined companies like Change Healthcare and others that it has acquired. This is going to be fun to watch... a movie in the making.
Thank you Fetterman.
As expected (there was an appeal) . Why are we posting articles on this site - we know how to get news, and use critical thinking to absorb it. This site is a joke. Posting Pete needs to start up his on Newspaper.
Yes. As a point of reference, forty years ago, the federal government settled a lawsuit with AT&T, prompting the breakup of one of the largest and most powerful monopolies of the 19th and 20th centuries.
