Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum/CHC cyberattack

4-5 days and the only official notice to the outside world is that experts are working on it. Where are all the executives that talk the pretty talk about how prepared we need to be for a disaster?

UHG /optum had made sure they stay away from the change healthcare brand in all announcements. I thought CHC had ceased to exist back in may

There are none! Unfortunately, UHG/Optum etc (whatever they choose to call themselves on any specific day) gutted the Change Healthcare IT and Security teams either by layoff or they put them under new leadership under the parent company team and removed them from their own Change Healthcare IT and Security Teams. As a result, it apparently and obviously left massive gaps of which UHG/Optum likely didn't understand or even care about perhaps until NOW. The overriding greed of acquiring the clearinghouse data of all other health insurance companies was the goal; being able to access that data was the impetus for the acquisition of Change Healthcare which the government did NOT do its due diligence and stop; instead they lost the lawsuit and the acquisition went through. It was preposterous how that went down.

This is a very unethical, toxic company. Apparently no one has been able to stop them.

At this point, it is likely that UHG/Optum never thought this would happen to them. Well, surprise!!! This issue is payback for the many to whom they've wronged. UHG/Optum basically destroyed the #1 clearinghouse and healthcare technology company all for the greed of the data. Who's laughing now?! Certainly none of the employees to whom you've done wrong. ...and for those companies who are in acquisition talks with this beyond toxic, unethical company, think twice and run as fast as you can. You'll be glad you did!

Congratulations UHG/Optum... this current situation will likely take years to recover from and is likely to result in loss of customers, business, consumer confidence, reputational harm, government inquiries, class action law suits, and perhaps a congressional inquiry as well.
