Could be the best thing ever

B not M
The question that everyone in the cable industry has been asking for years is, how do they get away with all of this? It is simply not possible to pay back $30M in debt with compounding interest. And to put the cherry on top, they were still trying to take over more cable MSO’s in Canada in recent years. So you can’t hold down what you already have but you want more? Adding even more debt? For real?!
They have a debt ticking time bo-b and time is running out 💥😫💥
It’s like someone mentioned in an earlier comment on this thread, the leadership at this company continues to play musical chairs with management and executive positions so they can tell PD they have made these changes and those changes and revamped this entire blah blah blah. Motion equals progress with these people. Do something! Change something! Never mind the change adds no value or solves anything, but then again at this point I don’t believe solving problems is their (Sr executive leadership) intention. These people are not stupid…they’re incompetent but they are not stupid no matter how easily it would be to believe that.
How many times can you rotate managers in the last few years It’s pathetic
Never gonna happen
What’s Altice’s $25 billion in debt compared to Charter’s $100 billion? Not much lol
I’m not a Bloomberg subscriber but I saw a headline that read “Saudi Telecom Submitted Highest Bid for Altice Portugal.” Looks like PD may have found a group to offload some of his junk.
It would be the best thing for everyone if the Altice footprint was taken over by Charter... Or literally anyone else for that matter. Definitely a big risk though for Charter. They'd be accumulating TONS of debt and an almost insurmountable number of legal and customer issues. Not to mention the bootleg FTTH network that Altice grossly overestimated the value of. Anything can happen though. Altice is in bad shape and sooner than later they're going to run out of options.
Speculation over
I completely agree with Post ID: @5kli+1rgobJgz all they had to do was continue to run Cablevision and SL the way they had been ran for years. Both companies were very successful, but PD ego and the ego of the people in his circle thought they knew how to run these companies better than the ones who had built them from the ground up. I think everyone immediately knew the Altice bunch didn’t know the first thing about how to be a success. And now the whole world knows. Altice is the laughing stock of the industry.
The irony....the irony of it all if Charter gets control of Altice USA. So many backstories. It would be funny if it didn't hurt so many people - customers and employees. The Altice Way. The Suddenlink Way. The Comcast Way. HAHAHAHAHA. To think...all they had to do was let some Cablevision folks (the same folks and philosophy that run CHTR) run the business and everyone, including the majority shareholder, would have made more money than they could ever dream of. Pathetically sad...
Bottom line is it financially has to make sense for anyone to acquire Altice and right now with the crushing debt Altice has it would be an EXTREME gamble for anyone to take that on. Not saying Charter wouldn’t do it. But you just have to wonder why they would consider it? They are in a good position and doing very well from all indications. So why would a company in that position take such a huge risk? At this point I do not see the upside for Charter.
Why were big honchos from Charter in Bethpage this week walking around? Huh...
I understand what everyone is saying, Totally makes sense ,however with the customers dropping like flies , the lawsuits, the debt, Something is going to happen soon
Don listen to the “financial experts” below. There are plenty of ways that a deal could be structured that would make sense for Charter or others to acquire part or all of Altice. It happens all the time with distressed businesses. Read up on Apple, Delta and Marvel; all failing businesses that were rescued, revived and made successful.
RuffTuffXfinityDawg Is spot on. Far too much debt involved for an AUSA acquisition to be attractive not to mention the years of trying to clean up the mess AUSA has with its customers/former customers. Charter may be looking to acquire more MSO’s but they are not looking to acquire unnecessary headaches and that is what AUSA is. A headache no successful operator wants. PD could not sell the Suddenlink properties a couple of years ago because he overvalued them and they have been ran into the ground. Well the same situation exists in the East. So AUSA with continue to play musical chairs with Sr Executive positions and hand out severance packages to employees who have been around a decade or longer until the majority of the workforce has 6 years or less time in, which means a cheaper payroll to meet. All of this to try and stay alive one more day, but this company has been on life support almost since day one and it’s just a matter of time until the plug is pulled by the creditors.
Debt load is too high. This deal will never happen and is being falsely reported by the media. It is nice to dream but remember to stick to the facts and reality. The only ones this merger would help would be the customers and employees. Therefore, it will never happen.
I believe Charter could turn this around, It may take a while But I believe it can be done
Not sure why Charter would want to even bother with a company that is literally burning to the ground unless they could acquire it for pennies on the dollar, and that’s not going to happen. PD has a most unrealistic view of what Altice USA is worth. Charter does not need to entertain Altice. The bad blood between AUSA and its customers is something I believe would be extremely difficult for anyone to overcome if not impossible so why would they even consider it?
Hopefully they get rid of that worthless POS M.L. Lord knows how that incompetent fool has a job
