Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

WOW WOW WOW another productive month for walgreens shareholders.......

  1. 99

USD▼ -1.84 (-8.06%) past month

WHAT A JOKE. These so called whatever's and overpaid whatever's, you get the company kicked out of the DOW averages, lose company value, how do you even look in the mirror. And you may have now what is the worst employee morale imaginable. I best leave it at that.

I remember when the company decided to gift all store managers 50 shares of WBA stock. You had to wait a certain amount of time to be 100% vested on those shares and even though they were given to us imagine if you had held onto those shares until now. How pi---d off would you be after seeing how high the stock got and then to where it is still crashing down now.

Yesterday just ended the second quarter most likely this will not be a big change from the company bleeding money. Even with all the cuts they made at corporate. But, I have seen all these people being mentioned it is amazing to me how poorly this company was mismanaged by the previous CEO because the income that is keeping this company floating is from the stores. There was no way that IT was going to suddenly start driving income into this company and I can understand how people who are involved in IT may believe that but this is a retail pharmacy business not a social media company that is a totally different business model and the fact that the higher ups allowed this is mind blowing. This company is heading for a very rude awakening because when you keep bleeding money it will eventually dry up. All of these people complaining about not getting pay raises will be blindsided when it gets announced because this is the direction this company is headed.

Majority of the lead level people in the IT and tech orgs who have been here for 3+ years have actually accumulated a lot of wealth. I personally came across a few people just coasting their jobs and running side gigs and being landlords. Sweet gig in the Chicago area. Good for them. Also showcases how obscure leadership is in these orgs.

Old-timers stick around as this is a pretty sweet deal.

Walgreens has been declining for some time. The company has been garbage to work for since Greg Wasson's time. Rewire, with all its cost-cutting initiatives and focus on metrics, destroyed morale and it was downhill from there.

Walgreens last stand was the Express Script fight. Walgreens lost.

Pessina took over and began the controlled demolition, which is a feature, not a bug.

Walgreens will be sold or go private.
