Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

IT&DA All Hands Webcast

“Workforce reduction” They said the words!

Also they are just hoping that employees RTO instead of mandating it. Leadership is scared to make a decision either way.

Anyone else have a manager too lazy to schedule their own meetings or even run them?
Why the h.... would someone write a message to someone else to schedule a meeting instead of just scheduling the d.... thing?
Just curious how rampant this stupidity goes.

Boeing is not worried about WFH affecting their ESG score. Blackrock, Uncle Sam, etc., never cared about your carbon emissions. The goal of any government or quasi-government program is to see how much of a bootlicker you are. RTO tests that.

Doesn't matter. Boeing is nearing end days. Hasn't been a place for capable, hardworking, honest, intelligent people for many years. Don't waste your time at Boeing. Move on to a better life.

Yep 100% WFH gets you the best talent but let's go try the opposite.
Lol.
Report them to the ESG police for making all those workers drive in everyday for nothing. They should ADD all that carbon to their delusional saving the planet lies.

Aerospace industry in general is having trouble attracting young employees.

  1. people are not Joining the military and not getting training to be an aircraft mechanic. So reduced labor pool.
  1. one of the reasons people are not joining the military is people who are former veterans are discouraging their family members from joining. This is the same problem Boeing has. Former Boeing employees who have retired or left are discouraging their family members or relatives or people from working at Boeing. They are encouraging them to pursue careers in another industries, but not aviation.
  1. low pay and frequent layoffs are not going to encourage people to pursue careers in this industry

This doesn’t surprise many people. Believe I read a few years ago that Boeing has laid off more people than any other American company over the last 20 years.

They all have the same playbook. Layoff, hire, rinse, repeat.

RTO policy is just to lay people off who don’t come back to the office.

You would think with all the cost cutting all the money they save in office space, by not needing it. Not to mention the reduced pollution, less drivers on the road but of course it’s just lip service at Boeing.
