Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you!

Ok this is not going to be popular, but if you are still with 2U, STOP Complaining! You are still getting a pay check and benefits. Instead of biting the hand that feeds you, Work to help make this company make it or get out. PERIOD.

@1umw+1rdXEy2c 100% thank you! So tired of employers acting like they’re doing people a favor for underpaying them for their work, but where would they be with no one to do these jobs? They sure haven’t figured out situation like they keep threatening.

We are TRYING to leave. The job market is competitive and having 2U on our resume isn’t helping.

Nice expression. If stop to think about it in this context, you’ll figure out where the actual problem lies. Employees are the hand that feeds the 2U’s success, and 2U keeps biting it over and over again resulting to its own demise.

"Just be happy to have a paycheck?!"
"Just be quiet...?!"

It must be excruciating for "leadership" to have the tables turned so completely on them! The underlings get to have their cake and eat it too!!

Leadership is used to abusive, gaslighting practices ata relentless level, and there was nothing anyone could do or say about it, until now -- thanks to this very type of platform.

So, get used to the power shift in this way. It ain't gonna change!!!!

“Hi, I’m on a chat board for people to vent work frustrations about toxic workplaces and I’m here to tell everyone to stop complaining! Nothing bad ever happens at companies, everything is the IC’s fault. Don’t complain, be grateful for scraps!!!” Nice try boomer, we can complain and look for work at the same time 2U continues to pay us to kick the can down the road. Hush.

I agree. If you don't like it, leave it, or else get in the headspace for success.

@ahf+1rdXEy2c, so Paul, as CFO, was not at the very least complicit in the 2021 deal with edX? What was Paul thinking about the edX deal? What did Paul tell Chip about edX, especially in the $800M cash bid? If Chip is the most negligent, and he is, why hasn't anybody sued Chip? Why is Chip being allowed to continue to another likely scam? Why doesn't Paul admit his wrongdoing, even if it was just bending to Chip's "growth" scheme?

EdX was a bad buy but it was Chips decision. He was the leader. He is gone now and Paul is committed to turning the company around. If you dont want to be a part of it, leave. If you do, stop complaining, enjoy being employed, and do your job.

Edx was not only a bad buy, it brought some of the worst, most egotistical, self-important people with it. Did nothing for anyone except cause problems.

The culture of silence is one of the things that destroyed 2U. People knew and they looked the other way. People at the top knew how bad the edX deal was and they looked the other way. $800M cash for a non-profit that was underwater and continuing to sink. And what good reputation edX did have was destroyed by 2U, by making it a "platform" for expensive "elite" credentials that didn't get people jobs.
