Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

The Facade

I find it a hard pill to swallow when certain APA leaders go on LinkedIn, post pictures of them "saving" the world:

"Had a great time discussing how we can contribute to human progress......"

Meanwhile, they are ruthlessly backstabbing their employees, not promoting the rockstars and continually taking credit for their employees work.

I know the real you and it's just gross.

The world is changing. Callon people will replace Apaches some will be better options others will be political. Overall with hope and prayers the company will be better off. Get paid every two weeks unless someone tells you Suriname is not going to FID. Otherwise watch the Hess show and wait for them to want Suriname.

This is so true across all departments.

They are not developing people who are worthy of being leaders. Favorites are picked because they are “managers yes man” or nepotism is in their favor and it causes a lot resentment and a toxic work environment. Managers are in meetings for 80% of the day and don’t have time to develop anyone (except their favorites).

Feedback is never followed through on. “Just keep doing what you’re doing” is not what we want to hear.

It would be lovely to have a full 360° review process because it would sure help clean up the manager trash that’s been here.

Not sure how much more we can take.

"If your miserable than leave" - Really just a cop out response.

What if...... we took the trash out and kept the rockstars? What if we coupled the great pay and benefits with solid and honest leadership. The company would be unstoppable.

APA needs to look introspectively for a change. Without consultants and truly listen to their workforce.

Looks like they finally hired a social media person as well as someone to come here and defend them from their bullsh-t.

If the asset base weren’t such sh-t someone would have bought this company long ago. Not even the upside in Suriname can offset the lack of value or outright impairments of the other assets.

If you’re that miserable, leave. No one is stopping you.

Apache doesn’t define you, its a paycheck and a damn good one.
