alot of one-trick ponies who lack depth of knowledge, but can talk their way out of anything.
Remember it's not how success is not depend on how stupid the Procured entity is but simply the degree of stupiding of the acquiring suitor. In this case Devon has ample reserves of stupid and is capped off with egos taller than the tower.
That is what makes merging so appealing! Two toxic sets of leadership would create a much stronger company where only the cream of the crop would survive.
We need to weed out the weak because they are just bringing us down.
Marathon employee here — trust me, y’all don’t want a merger with us. It’s no better here and MRO pays like trash. I know several folks about to make their exits. It’s toxic here.

Leadership, especially the boot licking middle managers and low level vps only respond to deception and game of thrones like methods.
Any above board methods and you will lose. It’s best to remember we work in a den of vipers
Attempting to collaborate with decision makers in the tower is insanity. Hostility is probably the most effective way to achieve anything meaningful with them, so be careful what you wish for.

I don't think there would be interest by any company to purchase the assets contained in the big tower and so, the only option is the find a drunk CEO which craves vengeance against his current company so ferociously that they would hand it to the tower of clowns.
