Interviews? Offers?

For those impacted by the latest layoffs, how has the job market been treating you? Are you getting interviews? Offers? Heard from several that it’s a rough market out there.

The skills for some roles are lacking, and it is hard to get expertise in XYandZ when you focus on one product. One product I will not touch with a 10 foot pole moving forward. If you look outside of the previous work your options improve. Finding similar pay is the hard part. And they know it, why do you think they offshored it all? If I am willing to work for one forth the pay jobs all day long. And why not take one while waiting for higher pay? The market su-ks with too many shooting for the same position, and Citrix expertise is worthless anymore. That is why I am getting other skills now.

IF you have a perfect resume. IF you can get it past the AI filters. IF you can get all of the proper keywords listed. IF you can then get at least to a human for an interview. Lot of if's but a lot of others in the same boat. Keep at it but realize it is you and thousands like you fighting for the slot. Often hundreds for one position. I am of the opinion go for it but you may have to go for anything as well. In fact I would be happier if it had nothing to do with Citrix technology.

In this job market connections are far less useful. With hundreds of applicants all using their connections they become "noisy" and recruiters paying less attention to recommendations. Just see how many people with lots of connections are still looking.

I would not brag much about working for Citrix since it is seen as a failure by now. Focus on your personal strengths and experiences, especially how they directly match job requirements. Customize resume for every job application

Job market is slow. If you look on LinkedIn, there are hundreds of applicants for every open role. USE YOUR CONNECTIONS!

I agree with the previous comment "I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT MY SEVERANCE". I should've jumped ship a year ago and at the same time I've been on vacation hardly doing any work and working towards my masters.

(((damn if you and damn if you don't))).

Anecdotally, I’ve had several unsolicited recruiter contacts the past two weeks after having had nothing for a few months. I’d say hiring is coming back online in some industries

Job market is oversaturated with many talented ppl laid off in 2024 from Cisco, VMWare/Broadcom, SAP, DocuSign, Okta, Zoom, Alphabet/Google, AWS, Microsoft, Salesforce, Xerox to name a few. Need I say more??? All these people are applying for the same jobs, and competing against internal hires. Nothing to do with being a Citrix "left over". Nobody cares about that, and Citrix experience is still highly regarded by many companies. Finding a job in this market is harder and takes longer, but still doable.

Job market is bad. Leftovers ain't going anywhere. Missed their opportunity window by at least a year. Pray that CSG still wants you or least gives good severance

Yes, this is the downside of "I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT MY SEVERANCE." Well, now you're spending your severance money because you don't have a job. How profitable was it for you?

I was let go just over a month ago and don’t consider myself in a weak position. Have over 10 years of solid experience with good credentials. Was prepared and had my resume ready to go. The call backs and interviews are far in between. Many companies are currently on a hiring pause, and those that are hiring have hundreds of qualified candidates.

Rough if you are in a weak position. But…
You’ve had 18 months already to run away from that hyena’s toxic clan. It took me 3 months to find a much better company, culture, leadership and products.
What do you think the market is thinking of those who stay so long is this sh*t hole. … that’s the rough part.
