Basically this is what happened. I was asked to take on the responsibilities of somebody who was recently let go and given very little training on the processes they handle.
All of the expertise in this client and the special considerations around them with this product went with them. Then while I was handling it, I made an error that messed up some measurement, and angered the client, who now wants a refund, and is threatening to pull out of Nielsen altogether. Hilarious.
My supervisor doesn't even care because he's spread too thin as well, and is also looking to leave the company ASAP, as am I.
And the hilarious thing is that the person they let go was definitely making a lot less than $250k a year (plus the loss of future business with this client)
Anyway, Good Luck Nielsen! But I'm sure Karthik knows exactly what he's doing.
