Why did Chip buy edX? Because he was a total id--t or because he needed another year or two to pump the stock until he could bail out. JK says Chip is just a mo--n. Not sure I buy it. Personally I think it was number 2, and that someone should try to claw back every cent Chip ever made with 2U. And where were all the other adults that should have looked at edX's numbers and said h*ll no?

Where were the adults when Chip bought 2U? This was a massive failure. A Gomez Addams deal. A third grader could have looked at the edX balance sheet and said "h*ll no."

So Chip bought edX, a company that was deep underwater and bought it up with $800M cash. Even an imbecile would have known that was a bad deal. But for a conman making his last big con at 2U, he knew that edX's tax returns wouldn't be made public for two years. Two years to keep the charade going. That's clever. Remember, Chip's the one who trick rolled the big guy from Princeton years before that. Put me on the con man side.
