Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

In weak companies, politics win. In strong companies, the best ideas win.

Its for this reason, under this current regime (Jane), Citi will fail. Its time to get rid of the antiquated thinking and political agendas. It’s time to level up on CEO quality and you’re not going to get that with the status quo.

The talent that Citi does have is severely hobbled by outdated, encumber some and unnecessary processes that prohibit them from functioning to their maximum potential.
Their external job searching outside of Citi however is NOT hobbled and is a runaway train.

She hinged upon DEI hiring to cause people to flock to Citi and that does not work. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

To claim market share you need to:
a.) Provide something new or different than other banks
and\or
b.) Provide a product or service BETTER than other banks.

Relying on DEI hiring and using it to advertise like there’s no tomorrow does not cause people to flock to Citi to give them their money. Other companies learned that really fast and quickly changed their playbook.

What has Jane delivered? A confusing reorg.

Can you name one major product that she introduced since becoming CEO? Nit talking about a rebranded credit card

Not really! Great idea is only great when they are under a group of people’s name, such as in power, favorites, cheer leaders, relatives, etc. you r idea never win in any place if you are not in that group!
