Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

No one wants to come back

I spoke with friend of mine who got laid off, just asked if he is willing to come back or join another team. The answer is no he want to take this as best opportunity to move to another company. I think they are blessed. They are paid to search for job in another company.

I’m taking my severance gladly knowing I won’t have to deal with insane Jane’s disastrous moves. People that stay have to clean up the mess and know they might be next. There’s going to be pressure to over perform or get fired. Sorry to say but Citi has become a terrible place to work. I hope next severance is as good as this one. Good luck.

I am in the same boat as OP. I would say I learnt the lesson that one should always spend atleast 20% of the time in making sure they are marketable outside and rest 80% dedicated to their job. I gave 200% unfortunately dedicated to the job and learning this hard way.

There is no way I'd even consider coming back if I were one of the chosen ones. I'd take that severance package as a blessing and run.

Managers treat employees like servants. It is awful. Most managers have become paper pushers or task masters.
