Thread regarding Medical Solutions layoffs

More layoffs today in Onboarding

We received an email from the VP stating that there was another "restructure" today. Only in the Onboarding side it looks like. This seems neverending. It was also noted that our team leads will contact us tomorrow regarding any team changes that directly impact us.

I'm a current employee in the accounting department. The leadership is so toxic and overwhelming with the crazy work tactics. It's so disorganized and communication isn't very good. If they should have let anybody go, was the accounting leadership. Directors being kept because they are friends with VP, have health problems etc. Controller that micro manages everyone to death. VP that turns a blind eye to all the poor behavior and then acts like they care. What a joke. If I had a new opportunity I'd be taking it! There is no support and the structure is varied. These people couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag! Looking to jump ship ASAP. I could only pray I'd be let go with a severance. I'd gladly let these people pay me to go away!

The severance package amounts about to 2 weeks per year of service. That's what I received for my severance. Didn't amount to much....6 weeks total for 3 years of service.

The amount of severance is based on how long you’ve been with the company,

In response to the severance package question. They give you 4 weeks worth of severance. So, depending on how many bills you have monthly it gives you MAYBE a month worth of bills covered. That doesn't include taxes being taken out of the severance so technically it's less than what was said to be given in the severance package. There's a bunch of clauses that you sign before accepting it. Such as not to sue the company or filing any lawsuits, confidentiality agreement, and not trashing the companies name. Reality is, you cannot survive off the severance package for very long before you'd have to have employment again.

I was laid off on the 1st round last Oct. I had a new work home with better pay within 3 weeks. Keep watching Indeed, etc and you will find work. The lack of leadership at Med Sol could be like having juveniles running the joint. Start looking around and get out of there! They truly did me a HUGE favor and you will find that true too. Best of Luck!!!

Does anybody know if the severance has gotten any better for the people that were let go? I hope they are doing ok and wish them the best of luck for getting off this sinking ship

I can't believe anyone thought the leadership was capable of making smart decision. They should not have been allowed to make the decisions about who should go. The debt was created by Senior leadership while the workers made due with free tools. Then when they made lay off decision their buddies were kept even though their salary probably could have paid for 2 or 3 people that were let go and a position was created for them. If a whole team is let go the leader's position should be eliminated. How is that good business? The senior leadership is immature and incapable of making good financial decisions.

That ship must have been the Titanic! It sure is going down fast. I'm sure they'll sell for pennies on the dollar to the highest bidder. I hope all of the people that don't drink the koolaid have their resume's up to date and are looking for other opportunities. You are more valuable than this company has let you think! Don't let the cr-ppy leadership get you down with their lies and sugarcoating. If this company had any moral values left, they would start axing some of the higher paying manager & VP positions to keep us little people employed. There are several Directors in accounting and FP&A that could be let go. Firing the controller would save a lot of lower-level jobs. The accounting department is the most toxic environment I've worked in. Honestly, I'm ashamed to work under the current leadership. They like to kiss a$$ and then turn around and be a whole different person. The controller is the meanest person I've ever had to work with.

Face it, we’re all on a sinking ship. How in the heck did we get here? I get the market has changed but obviously there were many poor decisions made by the company. Now the rest of us who have worked our butts off are paying for it.

I was a lucky winner of the 10/24 layoff. I worked in accounting. The company operated in the red all year last year, with the losses mounting more each month. That's why they did away with the quarterly bonuses for us minions. How they didn't address this sooner is beyond me. I thought we had capable, smart, informed leadership to make the correct financial decisions. Pushing F&O they way they did really sc--wed up a lot of processes. It also cost a lot of money they shouldn't have been spending the company was in the red. They should have looked at restructuring or looking at layoffs in early 2023 to help head some of this off. I'm sure whatever skeleton of a company is left, it won't be worth it's price on paper.

I feel like it's only a matter of time before it hits sales. The ship is going down. How did they not know we were in trouble this bad financially.

Was this specifically for Medical Solutions, or were all internal brands impacted?

In the last all company meeting last week, the new CEO literally stated that layoffs are going to continue until they meet the "numbers." How a company got so deep in the pit financially that they've had continuous layoffs since October is mind blowing. At this point, no one in the company is safe, no end in sight for the layoffs, and if you're still employed here I'd be looking around, not that many haven't been doing that already. The company has lost ALL trust with its employees and the core values have gone out the window months ago. The ship is sinking with this company. Coming from a current employee who is most definitely leaving first opportunity given.

But are they done or will there be more tomorrow? Or the next day? My wife was one let go today with no indication of why her, just hi, your fired, turn off your computer. It su-ks but I’m happy for her in the long run because it has been way too much anxiety wondering if she would be next each round of layoffs. Well, now we know. Definitely a large company who doesn’t care about its individual employees.

I was one of the ones that was laid off in the very first round, just wanted to say that bad business decisions has nothing to do with your work ethic, being laid off completely su-ks, but let the sting set in, give your self some time to process the situation- then remember how great you are and how many opportunities are a head of you!

Looks like it was only team leads and managers this time. There's going to be changes made to teams.
