Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Nielsen is going to die

There was only one solution to Nielsen's loosing market share: Fire all the Slovenians, Indians and 95% of the managers. Concentrate the good engineers that are already here on the GTIC and let them innovate and take back what was once ours.

Unfortunately they went completely the other direction and now this company will be lead by mo--ns!

"I have to admit Nielsen is the most racist company I have ever worked for. they do not hide it. I mean...DEI ?! BRG's ?! BWAHAHAHA"

I'm on a side of the company where 95% of the "leaders" around us are all women ... and make it known that a man will never join their ranks. I know it's a reversal of the norm, but still ironic for a company that promotes inclusion around every corner ... and not that I would ever want to join the ranks anyway.

And have to agree on the racism part too ... and reverse racism in some instances. I'll just leave it at that as the whole company is a dumpster fire to begin with, so what else would you expect?

ANYBODY that cares about grammar or syntax in a world of auto-correction and even AI should show themselves out, people here write the message and you can pass if you don't like it. I'm not sure how racism is relevant either since OP mentions managers also, which is totally on point. I would argue that you are the racist since OP is clearly an immigrant (that probably brought to this company much more than you will ever!).

Anyway, in all seriousness, I kind of agree. Talent can be found everywhere (even on India) but doing such a pivot as the one Nielsen is doing negates the last 100 years of a company that used to be a leader on the market, not a follower (funny enough, they talk about the next 100 years).

I myself joined about 6 years ago and I still remember how cool it was back then and how interesting the discussions, how much talent and such. These days, I have to sit on meetings to talk about something that is clearly wrong but we will still do because...

Nielsen is done and it is led (or lead, the point is what matter) by mo--ns!

ANYBODY (OP) who does not know the difference between ‘losing’ vs ‘loosing’, and ‘lead’ vs ‘led’ shouldn’t be taken seriously and CERTAINLY shouldn’t be calling OTHERS ‘mo—ns’!
But not a surprising post, since ignorance and racism go hand-in-hand!!

Hedge funds look for one thing - their biggest wins to overshadow their biggest losses, and they have the $$$ and influence to do it. Nielsen falls into the losses category to be made up elsewhere.

Hedge fund owners know Nielsen can’t be saved, and are streamlining the company ahead of selling off parts to interested parties.

Nielsen’s basically being used as a catalyst for the owners to sell parts to others for gaining shares within the companies they sell to.

The owners aren’t interested in saving anything other than additional losses and public embarrassment, and that’s it.

Nielsen's been dead for a while now, at least 4-5 years. This last ditch attempt to save the company by going private and sending everything offshore, hiring cheap help, selling off parts and pieces is just an effort to get out of the public (shareholders) eye and try to revive by its hedge fund owners. Couldn't have gone private and tried holding onto what's left without buying everything out.

Otherwise would have been even more of an embarrassment in the public eye. The owners will make their Nielsen losses up somewhere else while selling off other parts of the company.

From what most here can already tell going private is not going well. The new help is as clueless as the current management is, most of the talent has left the building and the rudder of the ship has without doubt broken off.

There's just too much ground to make up in a media world that's already under siege. Nielsen's technology is embarrassingly outdated and irrelevant now with the best days being many years ago. Now the company's just a sad example of a world that's passed it by, so thanks for the memories.

It's possible to be mad at Nielsen and not be a gigantic racist. I believe in you
