Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Culture Erosion, Permeation of Fear, and Guesses for Next Round of Layoffs?

My team dynamic has changed significantly. Everyone is quiet, there is no camaraderie, and a tangible feeling of people either not wanting to do or say the wrong thing, or if you do say or do the possibly wrong thing, everyone else is quiet to see what the leader says, and make sure it is clear you are the most incompetent person on the call. It's a stark contrast to a year ago when team meetings really felt like a team, manager included. Anyone else having the same experience?

When do you all thing the next round will be?

As a norm your rewards for BAU work and\or average work, you get very little or nothing. The message this past and current year is that if you do well, you’re still going to get little to nothing….unless you’re Jane. She gets tens of millions plus stock options and she votes herself a 6% bonus while her people get either nothing.

Does she really deserve it? Is anyone happy? Does anyone feel like a valued employee?
Her actions got us here, her plan to ‘fix things’ is to chop things up, people are being jostled around, there’s no clear messages, the handling of the layoffs are very poorly done and even more poorly communicated. Severances are handled rather oddly depending on role, location and timing. So does she really deserve the salary she has?
At the end of the year will she hold out her hand for even more money for a ‘job well done’, while once again everyone else is asked to do more with less and get nada for it?

More lay offs are coming! People are nervous. Too bad, not a way to get things done. I am sure Shadman will have words of wisdom for all of you next week
