Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

What does "IUO" in your email address mean?

Someone on here several weeks ago claimed that if you went into Global Directory, you could tell that someone had been laid off if you looked at their email address and it said, "@iuo.citi.com" instead of just "@citi.com".

Today, I noticed that someone on my team (same region) whom I am 100% positive has been put on notice does not have IUO in her email address and yet I do, but i have not been put on notice.

Interesting update:

  1. My close colleague that I mentioned in the introductory post, whom I know was put on notice, her profile has now been updated so that she is IUO. This has only happened in the past couple of days.
  1. I was told by my boss and her boss that my job was safe approximately two weeks ago. Is it possible that they were intending to fire me as of a few weeks and then changed their mind? Or did they mean to say I am safe “for now” but will very soon be let go?

People getting ready to be let go may loose access to external websites, external email, remote printing, and a few other things within the two week period before their account is deactivated. You may not be told yet that you’re gone, but if those access restrictions kick in, start preparing. Also, you can re-order them via a CMP and they can be reactivated during the two week. It’s an automated process that does it. Part of the TSAR process.

I've only seen IUO on people who have been Laidoff. And so the OP must be a troll, Citi HR/"Management" And BullSh!tting around as well as LYING.

IUO, internal use only. No outside emails. However, you could have requested to keep full access through a CMP. I kept my full access as needed to wrap up loose ends. Friday is my last day.

That just means you don’t have access to external email. This has been around for years and has nothing to do with employment status.
