Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Shocking that you all stay with CVS

There are so many great companies out there, that will pay you more, value you more, provide great opportunities for growth. It’s honestly shocking how many people will not take a stand against this company and leave. That is the only way CVS will ever change. So either you choose to stay in misery and accept less than you’re worth or you choose to make a brighter future for yourself with a good company.

The amount of dead weight CVS has some of you should leave. People walking around like they are entitled to their jobs. Half the people there don’t do anything but want raises and promotions. The company would be better if half of them left.

There are still things about my job that make it worth it. No other company where I've interviewed has been able to match the PTO, I never have to work more than 40 hours each week, no frivolous meetings, more flexible hours than I've ever gotten anywhere else, and management treats us like they value us. I might ask you why you care so much. Surely, if you have the things you want from somewhere else, you've moved on?

Some people actually like their job. The company/management is the problem. Some have been here a long time. Time with the company. Vacation time. Age. WFH. There are a lot of factors that make the decision to stay better person to person! It’s not as easy for some people to leave, not everyone can just go somewhere else and do what they do here! Or have what they have here. Grass isn’t always greener.

OP well said! I don't understand WHY people stay and take the abuse. It's classic Stockholm syndrome. And to the kool-aid drinkers here, wake up and smell the coffee. The horror stories I could tell you how CVS has mistreated employees makes me really wonder why people stay.

To the people saying “oh layoffs come with every company”….. no, they don’t. Well-run companies do not use layoffs to get a quick buck. They actually manage the company properly to perform the way it needs to. But CVS takes the unskilled uneducated decision making route and just haphazardly lays people off. It’s a sign of a failed corporation and failed leadership. Period.

Unless you are offering to cover my salary while I find a comparable job, shut the fu-k up!!!! If there were other opportunities available, many of us would run to them! I haven’t stopped looking/applying for over a year.

Just because you were unhappy in your job doesn’t mean everyone else is. I like my job and I like CVS. Layoffs and insecurity about layoffs come with every company. If it happens I am prepared, in the meantime I will enjoy my time here.

Here come the downvotes just because I like my job and don’t let potential layoffs rule my life.

Many of us at Omnicare have been trying to get out for years, but a couple things made it tough. First, remote work spoiled many of us, and CVS was giving yearly raises to those were survived cuts. Plus, the vacation time of 5 weeks is hard to beat. Finally, once it became clear layoffs were coming, nobody with any amount of years in the bank would walk away from the severance package. So most of us just rode it out to the finish line. I'm sure others with Aetna or other divisions are doing the same.
