Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Union proposal

LOL, Sure asking for alot.

IAM 751 formally opened negotiations with Boeing on March 8, 2024. The Union's proposal was developed by gathering membership priorities through surveys, on the shop floor, Town Halls, Local Lodge meetings and every conversation we've had with the Membership.

While we can't guarantee what Boeing will propose in a last, best and final offer, here are some things we are fighting for. Your Union's comprehensive proposal addressed the following areas and MORE:

Wage Proposal included:

  • GML of above 40% over a 3-year agreement
  • Increased minimum rates, shortened progression, more money for each 6-month Seniority Progression Increase
  • One set of progression in a career; no reset if promoted before max out

Retirement proposal included:

  • Reinstate Boeing Pension with retroactive credit for years of service since 2014
  • Increased 401k match
  • Contributions into the Machinists Retirement and Savings Plan

Medical Benefits proposal included:

  • Decreased the cost of using the plan
  • Decreased the monthly premiums
  • Increased Dental and Vision benefits

Retiree Medical proposal included:

  • Proposed improving Retiree Medical cost structure for those hired after 1/1/93

Job security proposal included:

  • Next airplane program built in Washington and Oregon
  • Proposed increase strength to stop unnecessary outsourcing
  • For crafts impacted by LOU #2, increased headcounts and the requirement to maintain that for the life of the agreement

Boeing will likely push you to strike and then just shutdown to avoid layoff cost. More money for executive severance packages.
