Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Do not take Tell Dell

Why waste our time. This will send more of a message than taking it

Tell dell is a joke. I learned that when they said everyone want to rto last year. It's bullsh-t and they make the results say whatever they want. I c they want to see what we think they should look at this website. I can't wait to get another job and leave this toxic place

With the supposed tell Dell results last year saying that everybody wanted to return to office, it really just tells me that they make it say whatever they needed to say or wanted to say because I cannot imagine that this is what People asked for.

I've given bad ratings the last two years and now have survived through two major layoffs. Not sure it really matters what you say on those and least from my experience.

Last year I filled it in truthfully. Our whole team did and they pretty much called out a director above our manager in the results. Fast forward 12 months and the manager has been moved sideways and we all now work for the guy we all dislike. This year, just don't take it.

Tell Dell is a joke. Before it comes out, we get reminded that only 9 & 10 count. Everything else is essentially a negative. The sole aim of the survey seems to be to beat up your direct manager. We all liked our manager and scored them appropriately but filled in our true feelings in the comments. No-one read the comments or chose to ignore them. This year, the feeling is to fill it in truthfully on how we feel about the company. It might impact the manager, but they feel the same. Don't believe it is anonymous, it's like voting in an election, it can be traced back.

Increased quotas beyond reasonable, laying off your peers which increases your workload, launching buggy IT tools on your customer base (So you waste most your time hearing them cry about how much it su-ks to do business with you) and outsourcing fixit engineering tasks to countries without a deep talent pool. (Not to mention the perpetual launching of defective BIOS blocks which require constant customer re-visits and damage control). If you want your employees to be loyal, re-institute a stock purchase or stock grant program. P.S. PowerFlex is a bloated hog, all the sales engineers know this and yet you listen to no one on this. Yes you, Jeff.

I use Google Bard (or whatever it is called now) to rewrite my open ended answers to minimize the chance that they are tied back to me. I have seen others in the past who have written truthfully and been discriminated against.

I would say though that Tell Dell is useless. Last year my manager got a -42. She was pleased with the negative number as she said she was brought in to pi-s people off. Well Mission Accomplished.

Personally I Don't trust tell dell any more than confessing to a priest who is a known predator.

Not taking it doesn't do anything. Take it honestly and nuke the net promoter score

Fill it and then let the world know about Dell. This is your only chance to express. But don't get influenced by your manager.

I go back and forth on whether I want to respond this year. Up until last year, the org I am with cared (or pretended to care) about the results. Last year, they barely said anything about them - they totally skimmed over all of the complaints and didn't mention it again. And, recently they replaced my manager with someone who has no management experience and hardly any knowledge of my customer set. So, I'm torn between telling them the truth (not caring whether I get fired) and just not responding (since it's not going to change anything anyway).

I will tell Dell. I will tell them exactly what they want to hear and then pray not to be fired.

It takes 20 mins. Tell them they su-k and move on. At least you let them know.

Drink the cool aid in the tell Dell. It helps keep the layoff target off your back. They are not anonymous

How about we all take the Tell Survey and enter the lowest scores across ALL categories. I don't believe that will cause real company change for the better. But it will probably lead to the survey being discontinued the following year.

Salary increase and return to office was mentioned by most I have spoken to in my sales org.
They pushed us back to site and have increased targets to the point that its actually a pay cut.
Tell Dell is a complete waste of time.

I really don’t know why they bother with the exercise. We all know it’s BS that will lead to no action, they know that we know that, so why go through with the expense and time?
