So sad! and upset! This company gets worse and worse, we just found out today, that all of the full time workers are now considered part time. No notice! No reason why! Some of us have been at our store for 35 years! And we are dedicated and hard working! It just goes to show this company does NOT CARE ONE BIT ABOUT THEIR WORKERS!

Glad I found these forums, it gives me a better picture of what's going on. I don't work at a store, I work at one the warehouses that fills catalog orders, and we have been on the road to becoming permanent part-timers too. They've been cutting our hours short on a pretty regular basis for a long time, and recently they've dropped subtle hints that they might cut us all to a sub-40 hour week moving forward.
People who work in stores are often okay with part-time work, but warehouse workers need full time hours, and most of us came to depend on overtime too, which is gone. If they make us sub-40 hour workers, possibly as a way to eliminate benefits and any possibility of overtime, then they will see a horrible exodus of workers who simply will have no choice but to leave. Tough times ahead.
The plot thickens…. All of you other store associates that assumed you were full-time… call power line…. We just found out today that we were coded to part-time status in the system back in October 2021. The company did not disclose this information to any of us. So if you are like all of us…. Because of this critical information not being told to you. All these years you have been misleading any and all legal documents that may have been filled out. Example, taxes, loans, mortgage paperwork, etc. Why did the company not disclose this information of coding us to part-time and never telling us all these years?
are you referring to the company eliminating part time plus causing those employees to lose most of their time off if they have been there for years. that was announced back in january-february
we were not informed recently of all full time associates being changed to part time unless it is just certain stores78
C'mon JCP has been hanging around longer than most expected. Why would this be a shock? You have to cut expense and JCP has been doing that for years.
