Did you get the severance packet? Jan end AI-team layoffs

Hi, I just got a notification that a FedEx package is on the way. I am inclined to believe that this might be the severance package. Have others already received their's? This Tuesday was officially our "last day" at Walgreens. Officially unemployed now, anyone else already applied for the unemployment insurance? My state doesn't pay much, but I've been advised to claim it nonetheless. Any long-term negatives of getting unemployment?

How are you all (laid off) faring thus far? How many of you have landed new positions (especially the AI team engineers)?

No issues long term. Enjoy a small l paid vacation from mine. And was able to find something after the money ran out.

Yeah it will be your severance paperwork. I just sent mine off today. Lots of paper, but ultimately just one small form that you have to sign and send them a picture of. They let you do it through email, but heads up the email will bounce back to you if the attachments add up to too much.

I was part of the layoffs in November. The FedEx package will be paperwork containing all of the information regarding the layoff and severance package - but won’t include the actual payout. You should get a separate check a week or two later. Not sure about long term negs on unemployment, I messed up and didn’t file immediately after my separation date and missed a week of pay
