Can the CEO give me an exception to be a people manager even though I have three direct reports?

I don't mean to be rude. This question is kind of 😂 hilarious. The company nor the CEO cares about keeping you as a manager or they would not have changed your role.
i bet this person will blame DEI if they don't get the exception. hahaha
Why would the CEO care that much about you specifically when there's a global organization to save?
In general if you have less than 6 they need to get an exception. I was told I recieved an exception for the last few years, but was not going to recieve another, and so my team was re-assigned as part of the reorg. I am now an IC reporting to the same manager as before... after 25 years of being a people manager.
The CEO can only give an exception to herself.
this post and replies really made me lmao 🤣
I like the lunch one 🤣🤣🤣
They went back on the 6 requirement because there are some areas that truly don’t need that many.
The rule was clear: All managers are required to have at least 6 direct reports....unless they don't feel like it.
There are a certain percentage of exceptions allowed within an organization. If you haven't been re-org'd yet, you are an exception as identified by your higher ups.
The story about 6+ reports is not true. In my broad team some SVPs with 3 reports lost their reports, and some didn't.
Sure they can even make you lunch and bring it to your desk
If you really so important, they will give you more people.
Span of control, 6 or more for people manager. 59
