I was let go after 5+ years working with a small but elite dev team on financial software that helped transform the business from working on spreadsheets to data-driven cloud apps. I had just been given a new app to design from scratch and was making great progress until April 2, when I called into a Zoom meeting with about a dozen other employees, the head of IT, and someone from HR to find out we were all being let go--just like that. Didn't matter how high performing as employees or how significant our contribution was. Not strategic layoffs at all. I also heard 5.5% - 6% layoffs. 3% is not accurate.
I mIght be incorrect but percentage I heard is 6%
Layoffs are becoming periodic, more frequent and more significant
