Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

I doubt this is all of it

I'm thinking this is the first stage, and we're looking at many more cuts in the coming months.

Have you seen the prices for GCP and Azure compared to AWS? There's hiring everywhere - you just have to find it or use your connections. Market is correcting.

The poster talking about Google and Azure is mistaken. The climate at Google is also somewhat tense. People are getting laid off. There is attrition in place. Very few positions are being opened. It is visible that the whole tech industry is not what it used to be. Employers know it, and they are turning the sc--ws on people.

Yes, great time to get a job at Azure or GCP - no layoffs for the foreseeable future, better pay. Amazon is doing perpetual layoffs, freezing wages, issuing quarterly RSU's, to boost their free cash flow for each quarter. Unlike other better run companies, Amazon cannot increase their free cash flow purely through innovation, so Olsavsky just 'fakes it' by using those dirty tricks... And AWS is way too expensive versus Azure, GCP!

I'm talking specifically about AWS.
